Senior day did not quite turn out as the IU women's basketball team had hoped. The Hoosiers fell to Minnesota, 59-53 Sunday afternoon in Assembly Hall.
Sasha Chaplin scored a team-high 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Jasmine McGhee had 12 while Aulani Sinclair finished with seven on 3-of-12 shooting.
IU shot just 35 percent for the game (19-of-54). They missed a number of shots in the paint to the more physical Golden Gophers, who outscored IU in the paint 36-22.
Minnesota forward Micaella Riche scored 17 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.
The Hoosiers finish the regular season 11-18 and 2-14 in Big Ten Play. Minnesota improves to 18-12, 7-9.
