The IU men's tennis team competed in another double-header yesterday against No. 49 Dartmouth and the Ball State Cardinals. The Hoosiers walked away with two victories as they beat both Dartmouth and Ball State with a 6-1 score.

The day started for Indiana by winning the doubles point against Dartmouth and they just kept it rolling from there. Senior Isade Juneau and freshman Sam Monette won their doubles match with an 8-6 score. Freshman Chris Essick and junior Dimitrije Tasic defeated the other Dartmouth duo 9-7 to help take the doubles point.

Juneau received the first win for the Hoosiers in singles competition by beating Dartmouth's Cameron Ghorbani in two sets. Monette and Tasic followed suit by winning their singles matches in two sets as well. Senior Josh MacTaggart battled Chris Kapouras and won in three sets. The Hoosiers only loss to Dartmouth came from Sam Todd as Essick was unable to beat him in the third set losing 6-7, 6-3, 6-7.

After the successful match against Dartmouth, Indiana started preparing for the Cardinals. The Hoosiers swept the doubles competition winning all three matches to take the doubles point. Juneau and Monette won 8-4 while MacTaggart and freshman Daniel Bednarczyk won their match 8-5. Tasic and Essick finished the doubles competition with an 8-7 win over the Cardinals duo.

Tasic started the singles competition against Ball State with a win over Imanol Arconada in two sets. Monette and Juneau both won their matches in three sets after losing the first one. Bednarczyk was able to beat Patrick Elliot in two sets. The Cardinals only point came from a victory over Indiana's freshman Elliot Yee.

This was a record setting competition for MacTaggart as he beat Alexander Brym in two sets, making it his 100th career singles victory. He is currently in third place in Indiana's record books for all time wins right behind Gunner Salumaa at 106 and Sven Salumaa at 108. However, MacTaggart has the least amount of losses out of these three having only lost 35 singles matches in his career so far.

MacTaggart will be looking to generate more victories on Saturday February 9th as the Hoosiers will be competing against Eastern Kentucky and Brown looking to improve their record of 4-5 at the Indoor Tennis Center. Competition will start at 10 am and then pick back up at 3 pm.
