Paul Bayt, a 6-foot-4 guard and high school teammate of freshman guard Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell at Indianapolis Park Tudor, will transfer to IU and be eligible to play next season, according to a press release.

Bayt attended Manhattan this past semester but did not play. He is counted as a redshirt.

"We are excited to have Paul at Indiana," IU Coach Tom Crean said. "He is a well-coached, well-rounded winner who is an outstanding representative in the classroom. Along with Yogi, Paul played an integral part winning two state championships for one of the top programs in the state of Indiana in Park Tudor. He brings some Division I experience to IU but more importantly he brings a great attitude and an ability to shoot the basketball."

Ferrell and Bayt were part of a Park Tudor team that won a pair of state championships the last two seasons. IU recruiting target Trevon Bluitt, a 2014 prospect, was also in those teams.

Rumors of the transfer surfaced on Tuesday, including from Ferrell's own Twitter account, before Wednesday's confirmation.
