Monday evening, the Big Ten announced the 2012 editions of the all-conference football teams, with IU garnering nine mentions.

Sophomore wide receiver Cody Latimer and senior defensive tackle Adam Replogle were named to the All-Big Ten second team by the media and the coaches respectively, leading the way for the most Hoosiers honored by the conference since 2001.

On 51 receptions in 2012, Latimer recorded 805 receiving yards and six touchdowns, averaging 67.1 receiving yards per game. Replogle meanwhile was the Hoosiers' sack and tackles for loss leader, posting five sacks and 13 tackles for loss on the season. He also ranked third on the team in total tackles with 71 on the season.

IU also had multiple players listed as honorable mentions by the conference. Both the media and coaches listed junior tight end Ted Bolser, freshman guard Dan Feeney and freshman offensive tackle Jason Spriggs as honorable mentions, while only the media chose junior kicker Mitch Ewald, junior safety Greg Heban, senior center Will Matte and sophomore wide receiver Shane Wynn for the honor.

The Hoosiers ended their 2012 season on Saturday after a 56-35 loss to Purdue, finishing the year with a 4-8 record. That does not mean however that preparation for the 2013 campaign is already underway, as the team returned to the gym Monday morning to begin player-led offseason practice.
