Indianapolis native and USA National Champion diver Jessica Parratto has committed to IU.

A current high school senior, Parratto has been a well-known name in the diving community for years. As a member of the USA Diving National Team since 2010, Parratto has been training at the USA Diving National facility in Indianapolis for three years.

As a 17-year-old, Parratto participated in the US Olympic Team trials and finished ninth place overall in the platform, her favorite event.

Her career breakthrough came only two months ago when she won the national title in both the platform and synchronized platform dives at the 2012 AT&T National Diving Championships.

She also recently finished in eighth place in the 2012 FINA World Junior Diving Championships which took place in Adelaide, Australia.

Her commitment comes only months after her coach, John Wingfield, was hired as the assistant diving coach at IU.

As of right now, she will join Kate Hillman as the only other diver on the Hoosiers' 2013-14 roster.
