Indiana University sophomore Cynthia Pammett competed at the Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Unable to attend the first week of classes, Pammett represented her native Canada as she swam four events.

Pammett placed eighth in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:03.60, a .46 gain from her time in prelims (1:03.14) where she placed seventh.

In the 100-meter freestyle, Pammett clocked in at 56.47 earning 11th overall.

Pammet got her second top-eight finish in Saturday's 200-meter backstroke competition where she placed eighth with a time of 2:16.47. In the prelim, she was also eighth posting a time of 2:15.38.

On Sunday, the last day of the competition, Pammett finished 13th overall in the 200-meter individual medley (2:22.03).

The Hoosiers start off the 2012-2013 season with a double dual meet against Kentucky and Tennessee in Lexington, Ky on Friday, Oct.19.
