The Big Ten awarded Chris Sujka its Freshman of the Week honors today. The left fielder shared the award with Iowa's Sasha Kuebel.
Against Tulane this past weekend, he batted .500 (6-12) in a three-game set. The Hoosiers scored 12 runs in the series, and Sujka drove in four, as he hit a three-run home run in the top of the fifth to give the Hoosiers an 8-5 lead.
His 10 RBI lead the Big Ten.
His .391 batting average leads the team. He paces the team in hits with nine - including three doubles, also a team-best. Lastly, Sujka's 18 total bases and .783 slugging percentage leads the team.
NOTE: When I talk about his statistics that lead the team, only Hoosiers with more than 10 at-bats qualify. Stats source here.
