Senior forward Georgie Jones played eight minutes in the game against Virginia on Thursday before tearing her ACL and ending her season.

This loss means the Hoosiers will lose another post player and co-captain of the team.

The Hoosiers are just six games in with a record of 2-4.

Jones to Miss the Remainder of 2011-12 Women's Basketball Season

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior Georgie Jones will miss the remainder of the 2011-12 season. The team captain tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her right knee during Indiana's game at Virginia on Dec. 1.

Through six games this year, Jones averaged 8.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. The St. Paul, Minn., native accomplished three double-doubles already this season including tying a career-high with 16 points and adding 13 rebounds vs. Murray State on Nov. 14.
