Half of the Hoosiers' six goals in their 6-1 win over Butler on Sunday were delivered by sophomore midfielder Lisa Nouanesengsy. Her three-goal performance earned her a hat trick, the seventh in the history of the women's soccer program.

Prior to today, Kristin Arnold recorded the latest hat trick. She scored three goals on Sept. 28, 2007 against Northwestern.

"Lisa (Nouanesengsy) had a couple of spectacular efforts that resulted in goals for us and played a tremendous game for us in the midfield," IU coach Mick Lyon said.

Nouanesengsy praised her teammates.

"If it wasn't for my teammates, I wouldn't have those goals," she said. "Big credit to my teammates. They gave me the confidence to score those goals."

Nouanesengsy took three shots during the game. Each time she took a shot, the ball found the back of the net.

"I've learned from the Evansville game that I'm a good player with the ball at my feet and (I've) got to attack the goal," Nouanesengsy said.
