Senior Paul Young avenged a loss earlier this season to Navy's Bryce Saddoris in the semifinals of this weeks Southern Scuffle in Greensboro, North Carolina on his way to a run to the finals at 157 pounds. Young lost to Penn States's freshman phenom David Taylor, but still took home second place and helped spur the Hoosiers to a 13th place finish as a team.

Also placing for the Hoosiers was junior Matt Powless who took third at 197 pounds and is now 24-2 for the year. Both losses have come to Cornell's Cam Simaz, who won the tournament and will likely be the top-ranked wrestler at the weight nationally when new rankings are released.

Senior Ricky Alcala placed as well, earning seventh place.

The team returns to the mat with a trio of home matches on January 9 against Cleveland State, SIU-Edwardsville and Gardner-Webb.
