That's what I find myself thinking as I sit in the Ross-Ade Stadium press box after the Hoosiers dramatic 34-31 overtime win against Purdue.
The simple answer is it complicates things a whole lot. Now, I don't believe athletics director Fred Glass is going to make a move. I just don't see him doing it.
A loss and Bill Lynch would have been gone for sure. A win, however, gives Glass ways to justify keeping him.
Rivalry still alive
We learned that when IU's Terrance Thomas threw punches at a Purdue lineman after a 3-and-13 play. Thomas was thrown out of the game and assessed a personal foul, giving the Boilers a first down when they would have been forced to punt.
I still haven't seen a replay, so I can't really say a lot about it. I asked linebacker Tyler Replogle about it after the game, and he didn't have any answers.
"I thought we were off the field and I looked back and people were separating Terrance," he said. "I couldn't really see much. Terrance is a good guy and I'm sure something was instigated on the other side."
NFL calling?
Junior wide receivers Damarlo Belcher and Tandon Doss, two guys with NFL talent, were asked after the game if they would be back next season. Belcher said "yes" without hesitation. Doss wasn't as committal.
"Right now, I'm just happy with the win. I'll look at that in a couple weeks and see what my decision is," he said.
