IU tight end Max Dedmond, who was injured in last week's game at Illinois, won't play Saturday against Northwestern, according to the injury report released Tuesday.

More importantly, though, offensive lineman James Brewer is questionable and could be on the field against the Wildcats. The Hoosiers have desperately missed Brewer, who is probably their best lineman. With Brewer on the field, quarterback Ben Chappell has more time to throw and he tends to show more confidence in the pocket. Without him, however, Chappell spends Saturday afternoons taking hit after hit after hit.

Cornerback Richard Council also returned to the practice field Tuesday and could play Saturday.
