Outside of the local media, nobody seems to be giving the IU football team any respect. Until the Hoosiers have that one good season and begin to turn things around, people are going to continue to be skeptical, and I understand that.
With that being said, it's time for some final predictions as IU prepares to kick off the season tomorrow night against Towson at Memorial Stadium. Get your picks in between now and then, and whichever person(s) is the closest will get his or her name recognized in this blog space at the end of the season.
You already know what I think, considering I guaranteed a bowl berth in my column last week. But to be more specific, I am picking 7-5 with wins coming against Towson, Western Kentucky, Akron, Arkansas State, Northwestern, Illinois and Purdue.
The Indianapolis Star's Bob Kravitz predicted the Hoosiers will finish either 7-5 or 8-4 in his column a couple of weeks ago. The Star's Terry Hutchens said 6-6 on his blog yesterday. The consensus, at least amongst the local media, seems to be IU will win about six games and make a low-level bowl game.
But I want your thoughts. Give me your record prediction and break it down game by game. Can't wait to see what you have to say.
