The Hoosiers (12-0) were looking to get preparation for Big Ten conference play and an undefeated record shows they are ready.
IU won its first match against Depaul, 25-22, 25-15, 21-25, and 25-20.
The Hoosiers won their primetime match against tourney hosts Miami (OH) three sets to zero, 25-12, 25-21, and 25-20. This is IU's 9th three set win out of 12 games.
The Indiana University volleyball team entered Saturday night's road contest at Miami (OH) (5-8) as one of 10 undefeated teams left in the country, and they departed Oxford, Ohio remaining amongst the nation's unbeaten class. Indiana concludes the non-conference schedule with a perfect 12-0 record, dropping just five sets along the way. Sophomore right-side hitter Kelci Marschall was named tournament MVP, leading the Hoosiers to a Miami Best Western Invitational championship. Ashley Benson and Jordan Haverly joined Marschall on the all-tournament squad. Benson has been tabbed all-tournament in each of IU's four pre-conference tournaments, including three MVPs. Haverly is also a multiple all-tournament honoree, earning that notation three times this season. Indiana opened the nightcap with a barrage of kills. The Cream and Crimson are now headed for Big Ten Conference play, beginning on Wednesday (Sept. 22) at home versus Purdue. It marks the first conference match of the 2010 season and will be broadcast LIVE on the Big Ten Network.
