While you never want anyone to be injured and miss time, IU coach Bill Lynch made the right call when he decided to hold star wide receiver Tandon Doss out of Thursday night's opener against Towson.

Yes, it's finally football season again and everybody wants to see one of the Hoosiers' best player on the field. But there is a bigger picture here.

By holding Doss out, Lynch gives him an extra few weeks to rest and heal his groin (IU doesn't play again until Sept. 18 at Western Kentucky).

But the biggest benefit is to Dwuyce Wilson who, in Doss' absence, will get a chance to show he should be on the field on a regular basis. Or not. Either way, Wilson will get an opportunity he might not have gotten otherwise.

What are your thoughts? Plus, how much does IU win by against Towson?
