Senior rower Emily Kasavana and senior field hockey defender Mutsa Mutembwa have both been selected as two of 452 collegiate nominees for the 20th annual NCAA Woman of the Year award. Read more about the award, check out other nominees, and see past winners here.
The two athletes have both earned several awards this year, as Mutembwa was a 2010 Rhodes Scholar, and Kasavana was selected as an ESPN The Magazine Third Team All-American. Both student-athletes graduated in May.
To be eligible for the award female student-athletes must have finished their athletic eligibility (in their primary sport) by the end of 2010, have graduated by the end of the 2010 summer term, and have a minimum cumulative GPA average of 2.5.
The 2010 NCAA Woman of the Year will be announced October 17, in Indianapolis.
