Led by sophomores Chase Wright and David Erdy, the IU men's golf team sits in 7th place after shooting a 285 in the first round of the NCAA Central Regional at Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.

Wright carded a two-under par round of 68 for the Hoosiers and is in 6th place individually.

One shot higher than Wright was Erdy, in 8th place individually.

Freshman Brant Peaper (73) and Corey Ziedonis (75) also saw their scores count towards the Hoosiers team total.

For only the second time all season, All-Big Ten senior Alex Martin (76) was the high score for IU.

Five teams will advance out of the Central Regional to the NCAA Championships on June 1-6. The Hoosiers are currently tied for 7th and sit a mere two strokes out of 4th place.

Martin will lead the Hoosiers off Friday morning, when he tees off at 8 a.m.
