Sophomore left fielder Alex Dickerson has been invited to the 2010 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Trials, and was named one of 25 semifinalists for the Dick Howser Award. The Dick Howser award is given to the top collegiate baseball player by the National College Baseball Writers of America. The winner will be announced during the first game of the College World Series, June 10.
Two other Big Ten players were also on the list of semifinalists, Ohio State's Alex Wimmers and Penn State's Ben Heath. Dickerson is leading the conference in batting average (.411), home runs (23), and slugging percentage (.818).
