Junior Lachlan Ferguson is the 2010 Ohio Valley regional nominee for the ITA/Rafael Osuna Sportsmanship Award. The award is given to a men's player who exemplifies character, excellent academics, sportsmanship, and success on the tennis court.
Ferguson had a season mark of 12-6 in dual matches and was 18-8 in dual match doubles. His 69 career doubles wins rank him seventh in school history. Ferguson also frequently volunteered at the Hoosier Hills Food Bank, the Special Olympics, and several other Bloomington non-profits.
Indiana Head coach Randy Bloemendaal had this to say about Ferguson (Per IU press release):
Lachlan competed very hard during his time at Indiana, and while competing hard I believe he did an outstanding job of representing Indiana University. He also demanded integrity and sportsmanship on the court with his teammates during practice as well as in matches.
