In the first of two matches this weekend, the IU Women's Tennis team ran their record to 14-6 overall and 4-3 in conference play with a 4-3 win against Penn State. The Hoosiers were heavily favored, so in some ways the match served as a tuneup for tomorrow's match with Ohio State.
"We played okay. We didn't play great," IU coach Lin Loring said. "We'll have to play better tomorrow to be competitive. It was good that we got another outdoor match in. We needed another outdoor match. We needed this match to get ready for Ohio State. Hopefully we'll play much better tomorrow."
The Ohio State match wil be played on the IU Varsity Tennis Courts and begins at 11 a.m. It will be the team's Senior Day and the final home match of the season.
Stay tuned for results from that match tomorrow, and be sure to check Monday's IDS for complete coverage.
