IU hosts Bo Ryan's No. 17 Wisconsin Badgers (20-7, 10-5) at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. The one and only Gus Johnson will have the call on the Big Ten Network, along with former Buckeye and NBA journeyman Jim Jackson.
Some random notes:
- IU leads the all-time series 94-62
- Wisconsin's 83-55 win on Feb. 13 marked the most points allowed by the Hoosiers since giving up 90 in a 17-point loss to Kentucky back in December
- UW and IU are 7th (67.4 points per game) and 8th (67.3), respectively, in the Big Ten in scoring offense
- The Badgers have the No. 1 defense in the Big Ten, allowing just 57.1 points per game; IU is in dead last, on the other hand, and has given up 70.7 points per game
- UW also has the No. 1 rebounding defense in the Big Ten, whereas IU has allowed more rebounds than any other team in the conference
- The Badgers are 5th in the conference in 3-point percentage (35.2)
- Since playing IU less than two weeks ago, UW lost at Minnesota by 16 and beat Northwestern by 7
- UW's second leading scorer, junior Jon Leuer, is back from his wrist injury and should be closer to 100 percent after playing in those two games
- ESPN.com's Joe Lundardi is projecting the Badgers as a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament; UW is in 4th place in the Big Ten, a game behind OSU and Michigan State
- The Badgers have four guys 6-foot-10 or taller
- UW guard Wquinton Smith is related to former IU football player Nick Polk
- Jason Bohannon's nickname is "J-Bo" (talk about creative); they call Trevon Hughes "Pop"
