Postgame:
IU pulled away and led by double figures for the last 13 minutes off the game on their way to earning a 74-61 win. With the victory the Hoosiers improve to 7-3 on the year while St. Louis falls to 3-6.
Senior guard Jamie Braun broke out of her shooting slump to lead IU with 23 points. Two other players hit double figures as sophomore guard Ashley Mells had 14 points off the bench, while captain and junior guard Jori Davis added 12 in a starting role.
Another key for the Hoosiers was the fact that they forced the Billikens into 25 turnovers while grabbing 10 steals. IU also improved its shooting in the second frame as it shot 55.6% in the final 20 minutes. The team also managed to hit nine three pointers for the game while dishing out 16 assists.
However despite the positives, two areas of concern showed up for the Hoosiers today. One was the fact that they were out-rebounded 49-32 on the afternoon and the other was the fact that they hit just nine out of their 16 free throws for the game.
Read tomorrow's paper for a full wrap of the game.
Halftime:
Hoosiers lead 29-22 at the half.
Nobody has hit double figures for either team and both teams are shooting under 40%. One positive for the Hoosiers is that they have forced 14 turnovers while committing just six themselves. However as has been a reoccurring problem all season IU is getting out-rebounded 27-16.
Stay tuned for further updates as the game progresses.
