With Thanksgiving fast approaching, here are some numbers to crunch on over the holiday break.
Senior Laura Nochta leads the team with a 73.66 average in 5 events and is ranked No. 107 individually in the nation. Nochta is on pace to break Erika Wicoff's school record season average of 73.92 set in the 1994-1995 season.
Senior Kellye Belcher has a 75.40 average in 5 events.
Senior Anita Gahir has a 76.33 average in 3 events.
Freshman Jackie Yanch has a 76.46 average in 2 events, including tying Gahir's school record with a 67 at the 2009 Onion Creek Challenge.
Freshman Pamela Burneski has a 76.50 average in 5 events.
Freshman Kate Coons has a 77.33 average in 3 events.
Junior Cecilia Orevik has a 78.20 average in 3 events.
The women's golf team currently has a record of 54-27 in its five fall events. They are ranked No. 52 in the nation and have the No. 53 hardest strength of schedule according to Golfweek. Five Big Ten teams are ranked ahead of the Hoosiers (No. 4 Purdue, No. 5 Michigan State, No. 30 Ohio State, No. 37 Northwestern and No. 50 Wisconsin).
The Hoosiers will return to competition on Jan. 31 when take on Wisconsin at the Westlake Cup in Phoenix.
