Virginia recovered a fumble by IU wide receiver Terrance Turner in the first drive of the game, and the Cavaliers have not looked back, leading 30-0 at halftime.
Cavalier safety Rodney McLeod returned Turner's fumble for 32 yards. Virginia scored on the ensuing drive with a five-yard run by running back Mikell Simpson.
Virginia added another touchdown less than three minutes later, and scored two more in the second quarter to build its lead.
The Hoosier offense has struggled with two fumbles, one interception, and a 1-for-8 third-down conversion rate. IU QB Ben Chappell has completed 93 passing yards, but has been sacked twice.
IU freshman starting running back Darius Willis did not play in the first half. He was listed as questionable with an ankle injury before the game.
