Indiana returned to the pitch Wednesday evening to take on their first instate opponent of the season. The Hoosiers lost to the Bulldogs 2-1.

IU's Darren Yeagle scored his first goal of the season just 3:19 into the first half.

Although IU controlled the ball a majority of the first half, the Hoosiers were unable to tack on another goal.

Compared to the two shots he saw in the first half, freshman goalkeeper Luis Soffner was tested a lot more in the second half with nine shots.

And on the eighth shot, Soffner's reach was unable to block a shot from Butler.

Even with 10 extra minutes of play, the Hoosiers were unable to soccer in double overtime.

But Butler capitalized and stunned the Hoosiers with a goal on a header by Boris Gatzky right in front of the IU goal in the second overtime.

With the Golden Goal rule in place, Gatzky's strike ended the contest and sent the Hoosiers off the field with their first loss to Butler since the 1995 NCAA Regional Semifinal.

Stats from the Clarence Doninger Scoreboard:

IU: 15 shots, no saves, three corners, and five fouls

Butler: 14shots, four saves, three corners, and nine fouls.
