The IU volleyball team plays host to No. 16 Michigan State at 7 p.m. today in their second match of the Big Ten season.
A few pre-match notes as the Hoosiers (11-4, 0-1) clash with the Spartans (12-1, 0-1):
- Michigan State leads the all-time series between the two schools, 25-40. IU owns the advantage in Bloomington, 16-12.
- The schools split their two meetings in 2008, each winning in four sets at home. The Hoosiers claimed the Oct. 3 contest in Bloomington by scores of 25-14, 23-25, 25-21 and 25-20. The Spartans answered the following month in East Lansing, winning 25-18, 25-23, 24-26 and 25-15.
- Michigan State enters today's match as the second-most efficient hitting team in the Big Ten, attacking at a .301 clip. The Spartans are also third in the conference in assists per game with 13.28.
- IU ranks third in the Big Ten in blocks per game with 2.70.
