No. 17 Indiana won its home opener 2-1 against the Ball State Cardinals. The Hoosiers move to 5-2 overall in the season.

The game started to the Hoosiers favor by a goal scored by freshman forward Brooke Borneman at the 4:42 mark. IU took 11 shots in the first half, but could only score one goal.

The Cardinals responded almost 40 minutes later from a goal by senior forward Brooke Macgillivary.

The Hoosiers took 14 shots in the second half and it seemed as though the game was going into overtime until sophomore forward Corey Brautigam scored with just 2:50 seconds to go.

The Hoosiers came out with a victory, and look forward to playing at Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 25.
