Last week Muncie Central standout and four-star recruit Jeremiah Davis spoke of not only how much he likes IU, but also his strong belief that IU will land 2010 blue-chipper Kyrie Irving. Irving, a 6'2'' point guard from Elizabeth, New Jersey, has been one of the hottest topics across the IU hoops recruiting world over the last few months. At the Adidas May Classic here in Bloomington earlier this summer, Irving spoke of his love for the campus and journalism school. Davis, a 2011 prospect, said he was "pretty sure they are going to get Kyrie."
The possibility of a strong backcourt, which in Davis' mind could contain him, Irving, Maurice Creek, Austin Etherington and Jordan Hulls, is a major factor IU is in the running.
Davis has made multiple unofficial visits to campus but recently received an offer from Thad Matta at Ohio State, and thinks one from Georgetown could come soon. Davis' list now contains scholarship offers from IU, Ohio State, Purdue, Ball State, Tennessee, Miami (FL), Xavier and Cincinnati.
Although Matta said the 6'3'' point guard was one of the Buckeyes' "top priorities," Davis is keeping his options open. He plans to make a visit to Bloomington soon and cited his like for Tom Crean as another reason for keeping IU in the picture. Davis even went so far as to say he "loves IU"
