Five straight games describes two parts of Hoosier baseball: their win streak and sophomore Jerrud Sabourin's hit streak. Sabourin's streak contributed to IU beating Michigan State 6-4 on Thursday.

In third place in the conference, one-half game behind Ohio State and one game behind first-place Minnesota, a win over Michigan State in the first round is exactly what the team was looking for.

"We just need to win all three games basically," sophomore Kipp Schutz said. "If we win three games, we should be in good position."

Junior Josh Phegley helped place the Hoosiers in position when he went 2-for-3 with a two-run shot that tied the game in the bottom of the seventh. The longball brings Phegley's total to 17 on the year.

Freshman Vince Gonzalez also contributed to the Hoosier's runs with his first career homer, a solo shot to right field.

But with two out and one on, it was Sabourin's two-run walk-off homer over the right field fence that closed the Hoosier's day with a W.
