First off, sorry for the lack of posts this past week. Zach and I have been making the transition to baseball beat writers. Let's get on with Hoosier baseball.

Warm bats and hot arms led the Hoosiers to a three game sweep of Northwestern this past weekend. The pitching efforts from juniors Eric Arnett and Matt Bashore led to a pair of wins Saturday.

Arnett pitched a complete game, allowing only five hits and posting eight Ks on the way to a 3-2 win. The win moved Arnett to 7-0 in the Big Ten.

Bashore fanned 10, driving Northwestern to strand nine en route to a 5-2 victory.

The Hoosiers bats were hopping, driving in eight runs in the two games. Their bats continued to stay hot into the final game of the series on Sunday that IU won 11-2.

"We got our runs early in the last game," junior Evan Crawford said. "The first two games, we kind of waited until late in the game to score. The third game, we came off strong offensively.
