The Hoosiers lost their first Big Ten series of the season at Purdue this weekend, losing two of three in West Lafayette.
In the first game, IU fell by a score of 15-8, with sophomore Joey O'Gara earning the loss. O'Gara threw one and two third innings, giving up three earned runs and five hits. Freshman Blake Monar got a no-decision after allowing four earned runs and six hits in four and a third innings.
Freshman pitchers Wyatt Hoff, Drew Leininger and junior pitcher Chris Squires came in relief to give up six more runs.

The second game featured one of the top starting pitchers in the Big Ten, junior Eric Arnett for the Hoosiers. The right hander threw a complete game in the 7-6 win, allowing six earned runs on ten hits.
The victory was Arnett's conference-leading 10th of the season.
The crucial play of the afternoon came in the eighth inning for the Hoosiers. With the game tied 6-6 and two outs, sophomore first baseman Jerrud Sabourin stepped to plate and hit a solo home run over the right field fence for the lead, and eventually, the win.

But while Saturday's game showed power at the plate, it was a different story on Sunday.
The Hoosiers did not get on the board until the seventh inning and only five IU players got a hit against Purdue starter Matt Morgan.
In the seventh inning, junior outfielder Evan Crawford grounded into a fielder's choice, scoring freshman DH Alex Dickerson. Crawford later came home due to a throwing error to first base.
IU junior Matt Bashore earned the loss after four earned runs on eight hits.
The Hoosiers will next face Big Ten opponent Northwestern on Friday, May 8 at Sembower Field in Bloomington.
