The Hoosiers fell on Friday to Michigan, 6-2 behind the arm of Wolverine senior pitcher Chris Fetter.
Fetter allowed only 2 runs on eight hits with 12 strikeouts.
The losing pitcher on Friday was IU freshman Blake Monar, who gave up one earned run and five hits. Sophomore Jerred Sabourin led the Hoosiers at the plate with two hits and two runs scored. Junior catcher Josh Phegley contributed with two hits.
IU returns to action on Saturday at 1:05 p.m. in Ann Arbor for the second game of a three-game series against the Wolverines.
