All six members of the Class of 2009 are McDonald's All-America nominees. Here is the full list of the hundreds of boys and girls high school standouts nominated.

I just read through a press release sent to The Cincinnati Enquirer about the local area nominees from the Greater Cincinnati area, including Bobby Capobianco. We know what he can do on the court, and I've also read that he was a ping pong champion of some sort at one time. But according to the release, Big Bobby also "excels in artistry." Who knew?

When I interviewed Maurice Creek last month he said he was hoping to head to Bloomington to catch the Feb. 15 contest against Illinois. He just confirmed with me that he will be in town for the game, though his family won't be able to make the trip. That makes three guards from next year's team that will be watching the rivalry game from the sidelines -- Jeremiah Rivers (sitting out per transfer rules), Devan Dumes (suspeneded indefinitely) and now Creek. Creek told me last night that he hopes to play in one of the major post-season prep all-star games this year.

Lastly, IU coach Tom Crean has offered a scholarship to 2011 prospect Cody Zeller from Washington, Ind., according to Peegs.com. Zeller is the younger brother of Luke (Notre Dame) and Tyler (UNC), so it will be interesting to see if Crean (or Matt Painter or Mike Brey) can keep him in state. If Zeller keeps growing, he could be a major prospect in a year or two.
