The Hoosiers only four-star recruit officially reprieved his verbal commitment to IU a while back, and today announced he will be a Michigan State Spartan in 2009, rivals.com reports.
Gainer is the No. 15-rated outside linebacker in the nation, and the state of Michigan's No. 13 top-rated prospect.
He is also cousin to Kenneth Watkins, another IU decommit who signed with Minnesota. Watkins is the No. 42-ranked safety in the country.
