Just got done putting everything together for tomorrow's paper, thought I'd dump some of my notes onto the blog, as the above header suggests. We'll have the standard two stories and a column for you tomorrow, but here's some of what didn't make it into the paper.
--Tom Crean said Kyle Taber played limited minutes Tuesday night, though the senior forward spent plenty of time diving for loose balls and out-hustling most players on the floor. Crean said Taber was supposed to play a max of 15 minutes, which he did. --For his part, Taber said there were nerves before he finally played Tuesday, though he said it didn't affect the way he performed on the court. --Brett Finkelmeier broke his nose Tuesday night, but still came back into the game. "That's some toughness right there," Crean said of his guard, who finished with two points, a rebound and a steal in 10 minutes of play. --Malik Story said he's getting more comfortable playing inside, something the Hoosiers will need from him but something Crean said through the preseason he was still adapting to. Story, who led all scorers with 15 points and also grabbed seven boards, said he's learning to use his quickness to beat bigger players to box outs, rebounds, etc. "Whatever needs to be done, I'm just there to do it," Story said after the game. --Daniel Moore said he expects his mask to come off some time soon. He said he hasn't really been bothered by wearing it. He joked that Brett Finkelmeier, he of the broken nose, will wear it next.
That's all I've got. Look out for some early signing day coverage from intrepid reporter Jordan Cohen tomorrow. Take it easy.
