The NCAA named legendary coach Jerry Yeagley and former players Armando Betancourt and Angelo DiBernard to the Division I Men's Soccer 50th Anniversary team. The winningnest coach in men's soccer history, Yeagley won six national championships with the Hoosiers and was named NSCCA Coach of the Year six times in his 30-year career.
The first Hoosier Hermann Trophy winner, DiBernardo was also a two-time All-American in 1977 and 1978. Only one of two IU players to have scored five or more goals in a single game, DiBernardo was inducted into the IU Hall of Fame in 1991.
One of the best players to come out of IU, Betancourt played for the Hoosiers in 1979 - 1981. In his last year with the Hoosiers, he won the Hermann Trophy and recorded 27 goals and nine assists. Soccer America named him Player of the Decade for the 1980s and All-Century team. He was inducted into the IU Hall of Fame in 1992.
