The Anderson University (Ind.) Ravens will help kick off the Tom Crean era on Nov. 7, as the Hoosiers will play their first of two exhibition games that night at 7 p.m. That same day/night, five-star recruit Dominic Cheek will be on campus for a visit, according to both Adam Zagoria (ZagsBlog.net) and Shay Wildeboor (JayhawkSlant.com).
Zagoria's article says that Cheek will visit Villanova next weekend, followed by Pittsburgh (Oct. 31), IU (Nov. 7) and Memphis (Nov. 14). Cheek was among several blue chip recruits in Lawrence, Kan., on Friday for Late Night in the Phog. The New Jersey-native has denied rumors that he committed to play for the defending NCAA champions over the weekend.
The recruitment of the 6-foot-5 wing has been tough to predict, with the aforementioned five schools all making a strong push, not to mention in-state Rutgers and Seton Hall also still in the mix. Villanova had once been rumored to be the school to beat, but with several coaches making home visits, as well as Cheek's connection to IU assistant Roshown McLeod, it may be wide open at this point.
