After talking with IU coach Bill Lynch today, he provided no immediate update with the status of junior safety Austin Thomas. He later went on to say that Thomas is day-to-day and the decision will be made close to gametime.

However, he did say that if Thomas is too hurt to play, senior safety Joe Kleinsmith will take his place alongside junior Nick Polk. Sophomore safety Jerimy Finch will instead play second fiddle to Kleinsmith even though Finch was highly touted and is considered one of the better talents on the team.

We would like to know what you guys think? Would you start Kleinsmith, a guy who knows the defense very well, or Finch, a player who has great potential? Sound off and let us know.
