I guess I'll use up my third allotted blog post for the quarter -- The NCAA allows live-bloggers three posts per quarter with one during halftime, and I'm using my final of this quarter to let y'all know IU has scored it's sixth rushing touchdown.

Redshirt freshman Zach Davis-Walker became the fifth Hoosier to rumble over the Racers into the endzone.

There may not be any more posts this game because I'm about to go suit up and get my name in the box score. Watch for Gregg, No. 25 (long-live Steve Kerr).

IU up a lot to a little.

Congrats Ben Chappell -- The back up QB fell forward from the one for his first career score.

I don't know if it's necessarily a statement game for the Hoosiers, but the coaching staff is definitely getting a good look at some of the backups.

For those keeping score at home, that is now five rushing touchdowns for IU.

IU up 38-3, and it's time for a nap with 3:00 left in the third.

There is a security guard doing 31 push-ups -- Why? A) The student section is very persuasive and B) the Hoosiers have scored again.

Demetrius McCray punched the ball in from seven yards out after a very strong stiff-arm allowed him bounce out to the sideline.

The score was McCray's first of the year. IU is up 31-3 with 8:32 left in the third.

So I have not been neglecting the blog, it's just nothing had really happened -- until now.

After Austin Starr had a short field goal attempt blocked, the Racers took over deep in their own territory. Murray State quarterback Nico Yantko then fumbled giving the Hoosiers the ball back on the two yard line.

After taking over, it only took two rush attempts by Bryan Payton to extend their lead even more with 3:30 left in the first half. IU up 24-3.

He's too fast -- at least for Murray State. Marcus Thigpen rattled off a 31-yard run for his second score as the Hoosiers explode to a 14-3 lead.

The Racers' field goal came after Greg Middleton picked up his first sack of the season on Murray State's last drive. The sack came on a second down and gave the Racers 12 yards to go for the first. They fell short by two yards and settled for the field goal.

The second quarter is just underway with Murray State on their own 28 with a third down and two yards to do. IU up 14-3.

Halfway through 1st quarter -- So, I was busy posting about how neither team could do anything when I noticed Marcus Thigpen streaking -- and I do mean streaking -- across the field. Thigpen rattled off a 67-yard run for the game's first score.

On the ensuing kickoff, Racer RB Charlie Jordan took the ball up to IU's 49.

More to come soon from a game that started slow, but is picking up halfway through the opening quarter. IU up 7-0.

Saturday night means college football, and hopefully Memorial Stadium will showcase something similar to that tonight.

I'm Ryan Gregg, one of this year's beat reporters with IDS, and today I'm going to be the carton of Ben & Jerry's to your late night live-blog craving.

That's right, the Hoosiers welcome the Murray State Racers to The Rock in a game featured under the lights.

The Racers are in the Football Championship Subdivision (D1-AA for those old-school readers, this includes me). Interjecting opinion here, but I have a gut feeling this game will done by halftime.

That said, one needs look no further than Appalachian State v. Michigan last year to know that every game, no matter what opponent, is a challenge in college football.

But if one does want to look further, check out the Southern Illinois game against the Hoosiers two years ago. IU surrendered 28-second half points en route to being upset at home.

IU fans are sure hoping that doesn't happen today. Get some comments and question a' flowing and let's have a good time tonight.

I'm out -- for now.
