Hey folks,

Just got word from J.D. Campbell with IU media relations that senior forward Kyle Taber injured his knee such that he will undergo surgery Wednesday. Taber is expected to miss 10 weeks with the injury.

"This is very unfortunate for Kyle," said IU Coach Tom Crean said in a release announcing Taber's injury. "He has been a strong presence and has done things the right way for us since we arrived here. We will move forward and help him through his rehabilitation and look to him to provide us with the leadership that is expected from a fifth-year senior at Indiana."

Taber is in his fifth year with the Hoosiers, as Crean said. He's a former walk-on who earned a scholarship just last year. He's the only senior on the team and the only player who could possibly hearken back to the Mike Davis era. An Evansville native, Taber was forced to redshirt his freshman year with -- you guessed it -- a knee injury. He wears braces on both knees.

So what do you think? Will Taber's injury affect the Hoosiers this year? Did you expect him to start, or at very least play a role as a vocal leader for IU come November? Sound off.
