J.C. Hulls, father of future Hoosier and current Bloomington South junior Jordan Hulls, just called the IDS informing us that Jordan will have a press conference today at 2:30 p.m. I will be heading to Bloomington South to cover the presser.
SCOUTING REPORT
I was able to see Hulls at the Adidas May Classic right after he got an offer from coach Tom Crean and the Hoosier staff. Hulls has been under the radar nationally, but the point guard had offers from IU and Purdue and had planned visits to Duke and Stanford before making his decision.
Hulls is definitely a "pure" point guard who can create for his teammates. He was able to take it to the hole and finish, but he can improve his finishing in the lane. Hulls is a dead-eye shooter, but at just 6 feet he could have some trouble getting his shot off over long defenders. His defense was impressive as he worked hard the entire time. Overall, Hulls should be a solid, 4-year player. Don't expect him to be a McDonald's All-American, but he should contribute once he gets on campus in 2009.
