We were not at the game because of spring break, but here is a wrap of the overtime loss to the Nittany Lions. Junior guard/forward Jarmacus Ellis sat out of the game due to disciplinary reasons IU interim coach Dan Dakich released in a statement before the game.
I just got home from watching the game at a friends house. IU did not look very inspired today, but did have several chances to win the game in regulation, but the Hoosiers could not keep the Nittany Lions down. The loss, combined with a Purdue victory at Michigan, dropped IU to the No. 3 seed in this week's Big Ten tournament in Indianapolis.
Today was the first "bad" loss the Hoosiers have had all season. The previous 5 losses were to teams ranked in the RPI top-15. Penn State is ranked No. 156 in the RPI, meaning the Hoosiers NCAA seed also took a hit.
Where do the Hoosiers belong in the NCAA tournament after today? Is the season over, or does this team have an Elite 8 or Final Four run in them?
