Eight teams began competition today at the National Prep Championship at Fordham University in the Bronx, N.Y.
Devin Ebanks' St. Thomas More School squad tipped off at 5 p.m. versus the tournament's #1 seed, undefeated Hargrave Military Academy. Hargrave, the former school of current IU guards Armon Bassett and Jordan Crawford, is undefeated and led by two Big-East bound players, Roscoe Davis (WVU) and Chris Braswell (Georgetown), as well as Mississippit State-bound guard Dee Bost.
In tonight's last game, #2 seed Findlay College Prep (30-0) takes on #6 Harmony Community School, led by IU signee Terrell Holloway, former IU recruit Bud Mackey and Jason Henry, who verballed to Cincinnati last year but didn't qualify academically. Findlay is led by future Kentucky point guard DeAndre Liggins, FSU-bound Devidas Dulkys and 2009 stud power forward Clarence Trent.
Other notable names in the field are American Christian Academy's Tyreke Evans (undecided), Brewster Academy's Emmanuel Negedu (Arizona) and Anthony Crater (Ohio State), Patterson School's Matt Simpkins (Memphis) and Notre Dame Prep's Terrence Jennings (Louisville), among other future Division I players.
