Tom Spiece, self-proclaimed IU Superfan is in the Hall tonight. You may know him as the old man who sits courtside with candystripe pants. That's what I used to know him as.
---
Talk about bad planning. Mrs. Sampson is sitting at the end of the student section behind the basket, off to one side. We'll keep you updated on Mrs. Sampson's adventure.
---
Boos fill the Assembly Hall as the Hoosiers take the court again. On a side note, Jordan Crawford's ankle seems OK. I would expect to see him play tonight.
The Illini fans are now chanting "no one likes you".
---
To be honest, the crowd action has not been as brutal as one might expect. The Orange Krush chanted "traitor" and "liar" to Gordon, but it wasn't too bad. Gordon didn't seem bothered by it, but it should be worse during the game.
---
You can tell tonight's game is important because of all the media around. ESPN has sent a special crew of Rece Davis, Jay Bilas and Chad Ford for the television coverage. I saw CBS' Gregg Doyle's name on the press list and Jay Mariotti of the Chicago Sun-Times and ESPN's Around the Horn is currently in the press room.
---
We just arrived at Illinois' Assembly Hall. Mike is outside talking to fans and I will be heading up to the court to see the reaction when Eric Gordon takes the floor for the first time in Champaign.
