As written in today's IDS, FIVE HOOSIER FOOTBALL PLAYERS were in trouble with the law this weekend, three of them arrested, including Demetrius McCray and James Bailey.

Right off the heels of this, the bomb has been dropped on IU coach KELVIN SAMPSON for his habitual rule breaking. (For more information on this, if you haven't already, check out the IDS BASKETBLOG...Chris Engle and Michael Sanserino have, and will continue to provide the best coverage that money can buy.)

Not too long ago, when Indiana beat Purdue in football and a day later Indiana basketball dominated an early season foe, things seemed almost perfect for Indiana athletics. Fast foward three months and the pride of Bloomington, Mens basketball, is in shambles, and three members of the 'Play 13' team ended up behind bars.

This is a football blog, so i'll only pose a few questions: Are you concerned about the citations/arrests of the football players? How big of a deal is it? Combined with whats going on with the basketball team, when was the last time IU athletics had a more damaging weekend to their reputation, if ever?
