FINAL SCORE IU 84 - TSU 72

IU holds on to win, but had to do so without the services of leading scorer Eric Gordon, who left in the first half with a "bruised backside". Check www.idsnews.com for updates and a wrap of tonights action.

IU is beginning to pull away, up 17, but TSU just converted a three point play to cut the lead to 14 points. With about 2 minutes left, it seems that IU will escape with a victory.

IU leads 80-66 @ 2:26

Another Stemler three-pointer makes it a 13 point Hoosier lead.

---

IU still has problems with the press, turning the ball over again. Stemler hits a big three pointer to put the IU lead back at 10 points.

IU leads 68-58 @ 6:48

---

TSU puts on a full court press which forces a turnover and leads to a basket, cutting the lead to nine points.

IU leads 62-53 @9:30

---

IU continues to struggle - it seems there is a bit of a hangover from the quality win at Southern Illinois. Offensively, IU is not looking for White enough as he is the only player who has been able to score tonight. With Gordon likely out for the rest of the game, someone needs to step up and be a second scorer for the Hoosiers.

IU leads 57-48 @ 12:07

---

TSU briefly cut the score to 9 points before IU returned the lead into double digits. Price continues to play strong, scoring four points so far in the second half.

Gordon is out with a "bruised backside". What that means, we are unsure of at the moment. Updates to come as we get them.

IU leads 55-44 @ 15:51

No sign of Gordon out of the locker room. Second half about to start.

---

IU takes a 48-35 lead into the locker room after TSU junior guard Bruce Price hits a three pointer at the buzzer. Price has 20 points for the Tigers on 7-11 shooting, including 4-5 from beyond the arc.

D.J. White leads the Hoosiers with 20 points on a perfect 8-8 shooting from the field. Gordon still is out of the game, but stayed on the bench throughout the half.

Back to back three pointers from TSU are answered by a White turn around jumper and a McGee three-pointer.

IU leads 43-28 @ 1:25

---

Gordon took a spill driving the lane and now has been taken out of the game, replaced by McGee. It doesn't seem serious as he is just getting checked out on the bench by the IU training staff.

IU leads 36-17 @ 5:34

---

After he missed a three-pointer, Lance Stemler comes up with a lose ball across the floor. The crowd loved the effort and the result - a pass to Gordon which drew a shooting foul.

---

EJ takes little time to make up for the missed dunk. On the next Hoosier possession, Gordon was rewarded by a pass from Stemler for making a perfect back cut and finished with a big dunk.

IU leads 30-13 @ 7:50

---

Gordon goes in for a massive dunk, but jumped from too far out and couldn't get over the TSU defender, clanking it off the rim.

---

Four straight points from TSU causes Sampson to replace Mike White, McGee and Thomas for the starters.

IU leads 23-11 @ 9:40

--

Gordon picks up his second foul at the 13:00 mark, sending the freshman to the bench. DeAndre Thomas comes on to replace D.J. White.

IU leads 15-4 @ 12:35

---

D.J. scores his 10th point, but fails to convert on a old-fashion three-point play. Freshman Brandon McGee checks in after sitting out two games with an illness.

---

In fashion news, Armon Bassett has joined the t-shirt club founded by Jamarcus Ellis and Eric Gordon. Time will tell if D.J. White will go back to his t-shirt ways.

---

Nice defensive possession as IU forces a shot clock violation from TSU.

---

D.J. White is playing a good game so far, scoring 6 points on 3-3 shooting from the field. Gordon has added 2 points as well as IU has jumped out to an 8-4 lead at the 15:53 mark.

---

Ellis makes a nice pass to White on the second possession of the game for an easy dunk.

IU leads 2-0 @ 19:04

A Tennessee State player, after being announced, went and gave the refs fist pounds. I've never seen that before, but I like it.

Starters for IU: Bassett, Gordon, Stemler, White and Ellis.
