Some of our wonderful posters said they have been refunded $30 from the IU Athletic Department. It is most likely a sign that students have lost two games from the ticket package because of such high demand. However, my 4 roommates all bought season tickets and have yet to be refunded any money.
The high demand is not too surprising to me because it seems that everybody I've talked to around campus bought tickets this season. With such high expectations for the team, I can understand while so many students would want tickets.
There is going to be a mixed reaction if this is indeed the case. Nobody will complain too much about getting back $30 bucks (hey, a good night at the bars or couple of meals), but the students missing the Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Michigan State or Purdue games are not going to be pleased.
I have made some inquiries into the IU Athletic Department and Media Relations to find more information regarding the situation. Check back with the IDS and the Basketblog for more information as soon as we find out.
