I just talked to Assistant A.D. Frank Cuervo and he confirmed that students would be getting about 16 of the 18 home games this season taking place while class is in session. He said that about 9,200 students applied for tickets. With only 8,000 seats a game, there obviously had to be games cut out of each package.
Another interesting note from my conversation with Curevo. He mentioned that the Athletic Department will be taking measures to "beef up" the student section this season. He did not elaborate, but said an announcement will be made sometime soon. While this will not be a block of 8,000 screaming students, it is encouraging to see the Athletic Department trying to reach out to the students.
