Hey folks, I know I'm not a regular poster to this blog, but I saw this on ESPN so I thought I'd toss it up real fast.
The first ESPN/USA Today poll just came out today, and IU is ninth, keeping consistent with the range of rankings they've been given this preseason. They are one spot behind the highest-ranked Big Ten team, Michigan State. UNC is number one, closely followed by UCLA, Memphis and Kansas in that order. In addition to Michigan State, IU non-conference opponents Kentucky and Southern Illinois made their way in, falling at #22 and #23 respectively.
Interesting to see if this means ESPN will predict the Spartans to win the Big Ten. I'll copy the Top 25 into the bottom of this post, but we want to know what you think. Does IU go ninth? Higher? Lower? Should UNC be No. 1?
