So, I spoke to Blake Powers today for two reasons. One, I needed to talk to him about an article that I'm writing. The other, which is by far the most important, is what's going in the blog. It's a new segment of Under the Rock that I like to call "The funny but unrelated to football segment of the blog." Why is it funny? Well, I've yet to completely figure that out. I just think it's interesting to see what the other players find interesting. So without further ado, here is my conversation with Blake Powers:
1) 300 or Gladiator? Powers: "Gladiator"
2) Cubs winning the World Series, or Armageddon happening? "Ha, hopefully the Cubs winning the World Series."
3) Greise or Grossman? "Greise" (side note: There was absolutely no hesitation after this question. Blake has just earned some brownie points in the Lee Hurwitz book)
4) Favorite TV show? "The Sopranos"
5) Favorite TV show as a little kid? "The Simpsons"
6) Favorite toy growing up? "Ninja Turtles" (another side note: I seriously doubt there is a single person who grew up during my generation and didn't play with Ninja Turtles. The same goes for GI Joes, Transformers, and Micro Machines.)
7) 'It ain't over till the fat lady sings,' or 'winning isn't everything, it's the only thing?' "It ain't over till the fat lady sings."
8 ) Kanye or 50 Cent's new cd? "Kanye" (another another side note: Once again, no hesitation. Good man.)
9) A basketball game at IU or a basketball game at Kentucky? "Basketball game at IU"
10) Favorite sports movie as a little kid? "The Sandlot"
Couldn't have said it much better myself. Please send suggestions for fun questions that I can ask next week's player. Thanks guys.
